The Aeroe Spider Rear Rack revolutionizes transport on MTB, full-suspension bikes, gravel and E-bikes thanks to its patented universal mounting system. Designed in New Zealand by the Maguire brothers, this award-winning rack (Design & Innovation Awards) installs without any mounting eyelets on any frame, including carbon, via ultra-resistant silicone straps fixed directly to the rear chainstays.
Modular and Expandable System
The Spider Rear Rack system consists of a robust powder-coated aluminum hoop (641 g) supplied with a removable cradle (Spider B Cradle). This 90-degree rotating cradle allows you to carry a dry bag, tent or any other equipment on top or sides of the rack. You can customize your configuration by adding up to three cradles in total for optimal carrying capacity, or use Aeroe accessories (Quick Mount Pods, Uni-Mount) for complete integration with the brand's bags. The rack is also compatible with any brand of traditional panniers via the Spider Pannier Receiver (sold separately).
Technical Highlights
- Total compatibility: Fits all bikes (MTB, gravel, road, E-bike), even those without traditional mounting points. Compatible with dropper posts, unlike traditional seatpost bags.
- Quick installation: Mounting in minutes with a 5 mm Allen key, without frame modification. Silicone-coated straps at contact points to protect paint and frame.
- Impressive load capacity: 16 kg total (35 lbs), distributed across cradles. ISO 11243 certification guaranteeing safety, strength and durability. Limit of 8 kg for carbon frames.
- Equipment protection: The cradles keep luggage away from the rear tire, even when suspension is fully compressed on rough terrain.
- Perfect stability: Zero sway or rattle, even in the most extreme conditions. The aluminum hoop can be bent up to 20 mm laterally to adapt to different chainstay widths.
Premium Materials and Construction
Manufactured in Taiwan to strict quality standards, the Spider Rear Rack combines high-quality stainless steel (hardware and mounting elements), powder-coated anodized aluminum (main hoop), fiberglass-reinforced nylon (adjustable feet and cradles) and silicone straps for gentle but ultra-secure mounting. Materials are designed to withstand weather, mud, impacts and wear over time.
Use and Applications
The Spider Rear Rack is ideal for multi-day bikepacking, long-distance gravel rides, daily urban commutes or carrying camping equipment (tent, sleeping bag, packraft). Compatible with tires up to 3.8 inches wide (standard version; a Fat Bike version exists for tires up to 5 inches). The system allows full use of the dropper post, without any attachment to the seat tube, thus preserving the freedom of movement essential for MTB.
Contents and Accessories
The pack includes the rack (main hoop), one rotating Spider B Cradle with integrated compression straps, and all necessary mounting hardware. Additional cradles, waterproof Quick Mount Pods, and a universal pannier receiver are available separately to extend the system's capabilities.
