The Galfer Wave Fixed DB006W2 brake rotor represents the pinnacle of high-performance braking for demanding MTB disciplines, Enduro, Downhill and E-Bike. With its 200 mm diameter and reinforced 2.0 mm thickness, this rotor delivers consistent braking power, progressive modulation and exceptional thermal resistance during extended technical descents or intensive use on electric bikes.
Disc Wave® Technology: 70 years of braking expertise
The Wave® design patented by Galfer in the 1990s is based on an optimised braking track geometry to improve air circulation (active cooling), reduce weight by 15 to 25% compared to traditional round rotors, and increase bite capacity. This technology proven in motorcycle racing for 70 years guarantees silent, vibration-free braking, with even force distribution across the entire contact surface.
Technical highlights
- 2.0 mm thickness: increased rigidity, better heat dissipation and superior longevity, specifically designed for the high demands of Enduro, DH and E-Bike
- High carbon 420 stainless steel: maximum thermal resistance at the braking track level, shape memory and consistent performance even at high temperature
- Laser cutting and dual parallel grinding: guaranteed perfect flatness, ultra-smooth interface with pads for precise, noise-free braking
- Anti-corrosion treatment: enhanced durability in all conditions (mud, rain, humidity)
- Perforated Wave profile: optimal heat, water and mud evacuation, performance maintained in dry or wet conditions
- Contained weight of 170 g: reduced unsprung mass without compromising strength
Compatibility and installation
The DB006W2 rotor uses the 6-bolt ISO mount (44mm BCD), compatible with the majority of MTB hubs on the market. It mounts directly without additional parts and works with all Shimano, SRAM and other brand pads. For optimal performance, Galfer recommends pairing with its organic (G1053) or semi-metallic (G1554, G1375) pads depending on riding style and conditions.
European manufacturing and certification
Designed, developed and manufactured in the Galfer factory in Granollers, Spain, this rotor benefits from the expertise and rigour of a recognised specialist since 1946. Wave® rotors are certified TÜV KBA (n° 61147-61148) and meet the strictest European safety standards.
Applications and uses
- Enduro / All-Mountain: powerful and progressive braking for long alpine descents and technical sequences
- Downhill: maximum thermal resistance and stability during intensive braking
- E-Bike / VAE: 2.0 mm thickness adapted to high masses and sustained speeds of electric bikes
- Trail / demanding XC: weight savings and consistent performance on all types of terrain
