With its 205 mm rear travel and Trifecta V2 high pivot kinematics refined for DH, this frame embodies zero compromise between speed, control and composure on the most violent terrain.

Trifecta V2 Suspension: high pivot redesigned for downhill

The Supernought introduces the second generation of the Trifecta platform, a reverse four-bar high pivot kinematics (inverted Horst link) with an 18-tooth steel idler pulley. This architecture guarantees a progressive rear wheel path that absorbs frontal impacts (roots, steps, compressions) while minimizing pedal kickback thanks to the idler. The progressive leverage ratio (3.2:1 to 2.2:1) ensures mid-stroke support and resistance to bottom-out, while optimized anti-rise drops to negative values at the end of travel, providing exceptional chassis stability under intense braking.

One-Ride geometry and World Cup modularity

Forbidden applies its One-Ride Geometry philosophy: chainstays and reach grow proportionally across the four sizes (S1 to S4), guaranteeing the same dynamic behavior regardless of rider stature. Chainstays range from 431 mm (S1) to 475 mm (S4), an unusual scaling that preserves front-rear balance on each size. The modular dropout system allows chainstay adjustment of ±10 mm and switching from MX configuration (29" front / 27.5" rear) to full 29", subtly modifying head angle (63.1° vs 63.5°), reach and bottom bracket height to adapt the bike to riding style or track profile.

Forbidden chooses sensible standards rather than chasing the latest trends: 83 mm threaded BSA bottom bracket (robust, easy to maintain), Boost 148 mm rear spacing (optimized for modern DH cassettes and broader compatibility), direct 200 mm Post-Mount brake mount, external rear brake routing for quick pit maintenance. The high-modulus carbon frame (front/rear triangles) integrates molded protectors on chainstays, seatstays and downtube, fork bumpers behind the head tube and a shuttle pad under the downtube. The forged Rate Control linkage with oversized bearings and collared axles prioritizes durability and ease of service over a few saved grams.

Complete frameset ready to build

The Supernought is delivered as a complete frameset including the RockShox Super Deluxe Ultimate DH Coil shock (300/350/400 lbs springs depending on size), e*thirteen chain guide with bash guard, Burgtec thru-axle, 34.9 mm seatpost collar and modular dropouts in position 0 for MX configuration. The +10/-10 mm and full 29" dropouts are available separately. The frame accepts forks with 200 mm travel (601 mm axle-to-crown recommended, 611 mm max) with 46/48/52 mm offset, and tires up to 2.6" (66 mm max width). Initially offered in MX configuration, the Supernought now also offers full 29" options via the modular dropouts.
