The Chiru Fukaï embodies the new generation of monster gravel in titanium, a radical hybrid between MTB and gravel adventure designed to devour the most demanding ultra-distance routes. Developed specifically to tackle the Rhino Run (2,750 km between South Africa and Namibia), this frame combines off-road performance, exceptional obstacle clearance capability and absolute bikepacking versatility. Made in France from Grade 9 titanium with proprietary hydroformed tubes, the Fukaï offers a unique technical architecture with its signature ovalized chainstays, its oversized T47 bottom bracket and its adventure geometry designed to ride fast and go anywhere.

High-performance titanium architecture

The frame uses Grade 9 titanium (3Al/2.5V) with differentiated sections and thicknesses to optimize the stiffness-comfort-lightness trifecta. The typical Chiru ovalized chainstays are welded to a massive hydroformed downtube that converges to an ultra-rigid T47 x 92 mm bottom bracket, guaranteeing steering precision and pedaling dynamism even on chaotic terrain. The contained weight of 1750 g in size M demonstrates remarkable technical mastery for such a robust frame. The hand-brushed finish with laser-engraved logo enhances the raw aesthetics of titanium while ensuring optimal resistance to external aggressions.

Monster gravel geometry and MTB Boost standards

  • Full Boost standard: 148 x 12 mm rear axle for maximum lateral stiffness and generous tire clearance (29 x 2.6" or 27.5 x 2.8" depending on sizes)
  • Trail-oriented geometry: 69° head tube angle (M), long wheelbase (1132 mm in M), short 435 mm chainstays for perfect balance between stability and agility
  • CEC titanium fork 430 mm: Optimized axle-to-crown length also allowing mounting of a 50 mm suspension fork with 700c x 50 mm tires
  • Generous ground clearance: Raised bottom bracket (78 mm drop in M/L) allowing to clear obstacles, streams and technical sections without hitting
  • Three sizes S/M/L: Progressive geometry covering cyclists from 162 to 188 cm with progressive reach from 429 to 465 mm

High-capacity MTB drivetrain and braking

The Fukaï is designed around a MTB single chainring drivetrain to Boost standard with 53 mm chainline and maximum 36-tooth chainring. The SRAM UDH universal derailleur hanger ensures compatibility and simplified replacement with modern mechanical or electronic groupsets (Shimano XT Di2, SRAM GX/X01/XX1 AXS). The 160 mm Flat Mount braking allows mounting of powerful discs and optimal cooling on prolonged descents. The modular internal/external routing system accepts mechanical derailleurs, electronic, rear brake hose, dropper seatpost and even integrated rear lighting.

Bikepacking capacity and extreme autonomy

  • 6 bottle cages on the frame: Generous front triangle + downtube + rear chainstays allowing to carry 4.5 liters of water (6 x 750 ml)
  • Optimized front triangle: Long top tube allowing very high-volume frame bag for maximum food autonomy
  • Multiple mounting points: Aesthetically integrated eyelets for rear rack, fenders, bolted top tube bag
  • Lighting routing: Dedicated internal cable routing for permanent rear light (frame and fork dynamo compatible)
  • CEC #430T+ titanium fork: 3 mounting points per side (3 kg/side) for triple-pack bags, fenders and front lighting

Handlebar versatility and handling

Thanks to Flat Mount braking and the hybrid geometry, the Fukaï accepts both a gravel drop bar for long rolling distances and a flat MTB handlebar to favor control and maneuverability on technical single-track. The ZS56/44 semi-integrated tapered headtube ensures compatibility with most modern stems and offers exemplary directional stiffness. The 27.2 mm seatpost diameter promotes vibration absorption and comfort on rough trails while allowing mounting of a dropper post to manage elevation changes and committed sections.

Compatibility and modularity

The frame is supplied as a frameset kit with CEC #430T+ titanium fork (430 mm A-C, tapered steerer, 15 x 110 mm axle, weight approximately 745 g, clearance 700c x 2.6" / 650b x 2.6"). The architecture also accepts gravel suspension forks with reduced 50 mm travel thanks to the suspension-corrected geometry. The T47 bottom bracket with internal bearings simplifies maintenance and compatibility with road/gravel/MTB cranksets. The external routing under chainstays allows simplified maintenance in isolated expedition conditions.
