The Forbidden Supernought V1 embodies Canadian excellence in high-performance carbon DH frames. Developed by the team based in Cumberland (British Columbia) and tested in World Cup competition with pillars Connor Fearon and Alex Storr, this frameset features the revolutionary Trifecta V2 High Pivot kinematics and a high-modulus carbon construction to tackle the most demanding tracks. Versatile, modular, and extremely responsive, the Supernought V1 redefines the standards of modern downhill.

Trifecta V2 High Pivot Kinematics: Extreme Traction and Sensitivity

The Supernought delivers 205 mm of rear travel via a high-pivot inverted 4-bar system. This architecture provides a highly rearward axle path (34 mm of rearward travel at 160-170 mm of travel), allowing it to absorb frontal impacts—roots, rocks, steps—with formidable efficiency. The V2 Trifecta integrates an optimized DH leverage curve: relatively linear over the first two-thirds of travel to maximize sensitivity, then progressive at the end of stroke to prevent bottom-outs. Anti-rise starts high (~140%) then drops drastically, even going negative at full compression, ensuring an ultra-composed suspension under braking and consistent traction exiting corners. The 18-tooth steel idler with Solid Lube bearing reduces pedal kickback and ensures flawless chain retention, even on the most choppy sections.

High-Modulus Carbon Construction and Integrated Protection

  • High-modulus carbon front and rear triangles: The frame uses high-strength fibers to combine light weight, lateral stiffness, and shock-absorption capacity. Forged Rate Control linkages reinforce the durability of the suspension system.
  • Molded protections: The downtube underside, chainstay, and seatstay integrate molded reinforcements to resist impacts from rocks, shuttles, and intensive uplift use.
  • Cable routing: Internal cabling, external rear brake hose to facilitate maintenance and limit contamination.

Modularity and One Ride Proportional Geometry

  • Modular 29" and MX dropouts included: The kit includes two sets of dropouts in "0 mm" position allowing switching between full 29" configuration (425–492 mm reach, 63.5° head angle) and MX 29" front / 27.5" rear (420–488 mm reach, 63.1°). Optional ±10 mm dropouts allow fine-tuning of Bias Adjust (front/rear balance) according to rider preference.
  • Proportional geometry: Chainstay length grows with size (S1: 431 mm → S4: 475 mm), offering each rider the same dynamic balance and weight distribution.
  • Wheelbase and stability: From 1,212 mm (S1) to 1,336 mm (S4), the Supernought prioritizes high-speed stability without sacrificing maneuverability in tight switchbacks.

Technical Standards and Compatibilities

  • BSA 83 mm threaded bottom bracket: Robust and universal standard, easy to maintain.
  • Boost 148x12 mm rear axle: Increased rear wheel stiffness and broad compatibility with modern hubs.
  • UDH (SRAM) derailleur hanger: Universal standard guaranteeing availability and interchangeability.
  • 49 mm straight head tube: ZS49/28.6 (upper) / EC49/30 (lower) headset—offers adjustability (offset, stem height) and durability.
  • 31.6 mm seatpost: Classic diameter, compatible with most DH dropper posts.
  • 34.9 mm seat clamp: Secure clamping, included in the kit.
  • Tire clearance: 29×2.5" max (Forbidden recommends 2.4" for optimal volume/agility balance).

Complete Frameset Ready to Build

The Supernought V1 is delivered as a complete frameset kit including the carbon frame, the RockShox Super Deluxe Coil Ultimate DH shock (225x75 mm Trunnion, springs adapted by size: S1-300 lb/in, S2-350, S3-400, S4-450), the modular 29" and MX dropouts, the Forbidden Race Guide chain guide + E*13 LG1+ lower bash guard, the integrated 18T steel idler, and the Burgtec 180×1.0 mm rear thru-axle. All that remains is to complete with a 200 mm fork (RockShox Boxxer, Fox 40…), a 7-speed DH groupset, wheels, and components to obtain a World Cup-ready race machine.

World Cup Heritage and Canadian DNA

Designed on the technical trails of Vancouver Island and refined in World Cup competition, the Supernought V1 benefits from field feedback from Forbidden Synthesis athletes. Every detail—from the leverage curve to the idler tooth profile—reflects a commitment to pure DH performance: maximum traction, sensitive suspension, composed braking, and the ability to stay off-the-brakes longer. A frame designed by racers, for demanding racers.
